Wine Catalog > Godwin Merlot
Grapes for this serious wine are harvested from the Nelson Vineyards located in the foothills of Sonoma Mountain in Bennett Valley. Bennett Valley has long been recognized as an appellation well suited to production of grest merlot grapes due to its cool climate and hillside terroirs. Inky black in colour defines its intensity, with aromas of ripe black cherry, ceder and cinnamon and a hint of desert sage; those lonely inticing smells of a warm plateau evening. Initially, the palate is treated to a fine silkiness that transends into a luscious, jammy mouthful of rich and elegant flavours true to its Pomerol profile. This is Merlot as Merlot is meant to be.
